Apr 30, 2023Two charged with damaging North York park with stolen milling machine
Northern York County Regional Police charged two people in connection with stealing a milling machine and damaging a North York park.
Tylor A. Stough, 21, and a 17-year-old juvenile were both charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief in connection to damage the pair allegedly caused at Kauffman Park on Oct. 6.
Police said the incident took place around 4:30 a.m. at the park located at 350 E. Fifth Avenue.
A milling machine owned by Kinsley Construction was taken from the area of North George Street and Eighth Avenue. Once at the park, investigators say the two drove across the basketball court and ran over items such as park benches, trash cans and parking signs. The machine eventually became disabled in the grass at the park.

Police said the individuals didn't give officers a reason for the theft during their interviews. Both reside in North York.
The milling machine was valued at over $200,000, and the damage to park property is estimated to be over $15,000, police said. The estimated costs of the damage had not been obtained before the charges were filed.
A juvenile allegation was filed on the juvenile suspect, police said, but details of that case are not publicly available.
