"I got a set of rollers to put my racing chair on to practice in the winter or when it's raining outside," said 14-year-old Isabel Einwich, an Endeavor Games athlete.
Hartford Insurance, a sponsor for the games, donated more than $20,000 of equipment to three athletes. These donations gave athletes the chance to continue striving to be their best in their sports.
"I do high school track, so after school every day, just like an hour and a half in the racing chair, and it really depends on what my coach tells me that day," said Einwich.
As a gold medalist for the USA Wheelchair Basketball Team, Megan Blunk said she knows how important it is to have the proper equipment to practice and perform.
"It is hard to find the equipment you need because everything needs to be custom fit if you want to be your very best, and who doesn't? Especially if you’re an athlete and custom fit, you’re not going to find that borrowing a chair from someone," said Blunk.
They also gifted a Heart for Human Achievement Award grant to a well-deserving athlete to help with training and traveling expenses.
"The families already have enough on their plate with trying to make a house accessible and get a car that's accessible and everything in their life," said Blunk.
The games will continue to compete Friday night and through the weekend at UCO.
